The number of tourists who visited Georgia in January 2013 increased by 22 per cent. As the Georgian Statistics Service reported, in the first month of 2013, some 277,045 tourists visited the country which is 22 per cent higher than in 2012.
In January 2012, the number of tourists from European countries visiting Georgia increased by 22 per cent compared to January 2011 and the number from the U.S. declined by 19 per cent.
Tourists from Asia in January 2012 increased by 23 per cent compared to the same month in 2011, while the number from Africa declined by 24 per cent.
