Scientists at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan have developed new technology for purification and softening of circulation water in the oil refining industry, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.
Currently, industrial water that does not fully comply with Interstate Standard is used when cooling equipment of oil refineries, as a result of which the surfaces of heat exchangers are gradually covered with a layer of scale, the heat exchange process is deteriorating, and the water consumption for cooling is increasing.
The technology developed by scientists will help to increase the service life of heat exchange equipment, save industrial water and increase the efficiency of cooling processes.
It is expected that the use of the technology proposed by scientists will contribute to the elimination of scale on the inner surface of the tubes of heat exchangers and improve heat transfer.
