The official opening ceremony of the ninth and tenth phases of the South Pars gas project was held in Iran on March 13. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attended, the Mehr news agency reported.
The opening of the ninth and tenth phases means 65 percent of the project has been implemented.
The phases envisage producing gas from extracted within the sixth, seventh and eights phases.
Fifty million cubic meters of gas and 80,000 cubic meters of gas condensate will be produced daily.
A total of $4.2 billion have been invested in the project in three years.
