Azerbaijan, Baku, April 17 / Trend E. Ismayilov /
The work of two plants belonging to the chemical complex "Azerkimya" will be fully restored in early May, former Azerkimya vice-president Firudin Mustafayev said. Earlier it was transferred into SOCAR.
He said that there are plants having surface-active substances, synthetic rubber, organic synthesis, ethylene and polyethylene, as well as mechanical repair factory in Azerkimya. The plants producing ethylene and polyethylene are in working condition.
Mustafaev said that it is planned that the plant for the production of ethylene and polyethylene will have a plant on a polypropylene production capacity of 100,000 tons, and a plant to manufacture high-density polyethylene with capacity of 100,000 tons. This process will be completed within 2-3 years.
The current number of Azerkimya employees is about 5,000-6,000 people. SOCAR intends to create another 10,000 jobs.
Mustafayev said that the energy generated by the installation of electricity (320 MW) on an EP-300 will be enough for Azerkimya enterprises because it is the most energy-intensive VC -300. Other plants require less consumption. Moreover, 500-megawatt power plant can be involved. Earlier it was commissioned in Sumgait.
