Tens of settlements will be gasified in Azerbaijan in September, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Production Association Azerigas told Trend on Thursday.
"Work on increasing the level of gasification in the county is carried out actively and it is expected that a number of regions will be gasified by September 20," the Production Association said.
According to Azerigas Production Association, the work within increasing the level of gasification and improvement of gas supply will be completed by end 2013. Work in this direction will also be continued next year within the regions' and the capital's social and economic development programs.
It is planned to bring the level of gasification to 90 per cent by the end of this year.
As of August 1, 2013, about 1 561 750 subscribers are provided with gas, around 1 542 742 of which belong to population category and the remaining 19,008 are the subscribers of other categories.
Azerigas Production Association is engaged in distribution and sale of gas in the territory of Azerbaijan.
