The Russian Federal Tariff Service has equated the tariffs for Russian and Kazakh oil transportation through Russian oil transporting giant Transneft's pipeline system, the service reported.
The decision was taken to meet the requirements of the agreement on the organisation, management, operation and development of common markets of oil and petroleum products of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation from 2010. This agreement has recently come into force.
According to the agreement, oil transportation tariffs for all members of the contract should equate to tariffs for the enterprises of the transit country.
Earlier Kazakhstan transported oil through Russia by an individual tariff which was higher than that for Russian oil transportation.
