DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, March 14. The EU is ready to allocate a grant of 45 million euros for the development of Tajikistan's energy sector and plans to implement promising projects in the future, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, this was stated during the fourth meeting of the Subcommittee on the Development of Cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU.
During the meeting, the parties noted that the trade turnover between Tajikistan and the EU countries for the whole of last year amounted to about $401.5 million.
Trade, economy, industry, investments, healthcare, education, energy, digitalization, the creation of technoparks, and the construction of the Rogun HPP were named priority areas of cooperation.
The parties noted that within the framework of the first stage of the EU Indicative Program for 2021-2024, 91 million euros have been allocated to priority areas of Tajikistan, projects of which are currently being implemented.
Furthermore, it was noted that a new draft of the multi-year indicative program of the EU for 2024-2027 is under development, and the amount of its financing will be determined in 2024.
