BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 12. Azerbaijan made it into the top five as one of the main players in supplying piped gas to the EU in June, Trend reports via Kpler and ENTSOG.
Pipeline gas constituted 59.8 percent of total gas supplies to the EU in the first month of summer, with liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments making up the remainder.
According to European analytical firms, gas from Azerbaijan accounted for 4.3 percent of the total volume of gas supplies to the EU from all sources in June.
Norway led the June deliveries with the largest share (33.3 percent) from pipeline gas, followed by Russia (17.9 percent in total, comprising 9.7 percent from pipeline gas and 8.2 percent from LNG), and the US ranked third (17.3 percent from LNG exclusively).
