BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Azerbaijan is implementing important reforms aimed at new opportunities for business owners, further improving the business climate in the country, Trend reports.

Reviewing the latest innovations in electricity connection in Azerbaijan, it can be noted that the introduction of a single electricity connection service on June 3, 2024, has simplified the application process for energy consumers.

With the introduction of electronic applications, each user, without leaving home, through the websites https://e-gov.az/ and https://e-service.azerishiq.az/ can easily get information on the status of application fulfillment, as well as apply for connection to the network.

Under the upgraded rules, the connection of construction projects with a required capacity of up to 200 kW to the power supply network from the existing 0.4 kV network is carried out in two stages within 20 days. Previously, this limit was 150 kW. Raising the capacity threshold allowed more entrepreneurs to connect to the network in a short period. At the same time, the tariff policy implemented by the Tariff Council makes the costs of entrepreneurs more transparent. Currently, for residential subscribers and facilities with a capacity up to 200 kW, a fee of 40 manat ($23.5) is charged for each kW of capacity up to 10 kW on 1-phase connections, 60 manat ($35.2) from 10.1 kW to 20 kW, and 293 manat ($172.3) for each kW on 3-phase connections.

One of the most attractive innovations for entrepreneurs is support for the use of renewable energy sources. Now, entrepreneurs can produce green energy with installations with a maximum capacity of 150 kW using alternative sources, such as solar panels, and generate income by transmitting the energy to the grid. This requires the installation of a bidirectional meter.

These innovations not only make the work of entrepreneurs easier but also accelerate Azerbaijan's transition to a green economy by increasing the use of renewable energy sources.

The favorable conditions created in Azerbaijan for entrepreneurs play an important role in the development of the country's business environment, allowing for more efficient and economical use of electricity.
