Kazakhstan, Astana, May 30 / Trend, D. Mukhtarov /

A blasphemous attitude toward religious shrines occurs in many countries, and this is unacceptable, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said addressing the Fourth Congress of world and traditional religions.

"Public burning of holy books, profanation and burning of mosques, temples, synagogues and other religious places, discredit of clergy, beatings and killings of members of flock is blasphemous," Nazarbayev said.

He said Kazakhstan condemns such bursts of "militant godlessness".

He recalled that Islam is the cultural and material heritage of mankind, without which it is impossible to imagine the modern world.

"Any kind of obstruction of Islam is dangerous to the entire world," he stressed.
