The Senate of Oliy Majlis (upper house of parliament) of Uzbekistan appointed new ambassador to Azerbaijan.
According to the decree of Senate, Sherzod Fayziyev appointed as the Uzbek ambassador to Azerbaijan.
Fayziyev will replace Ismetulla Irgashev who ended his mission in February, 2012.
Sherzod Fayziyev, 1969, graduated from Tashkent State Agrarian University and Diplomatic Academy in Moscow. Since 1993 he has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. In 2007-2008 he was the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Community (Moscow). From April 2009 Faiziev served as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan.
