BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 13. For the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, to March 20, 2025), it is projected that exports of Iranian machine-made carpets will rise by 20 percent compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, to March 19, 2024), Trend reports.
Tavallai stated that last year the country exported carpets valued at $229 million. He added that Iranian machine-made carpets are sought after from Australia to the United States because of their quality, design, and patterns.
The chairman of the association reported that approximately $132 million worth of machine-made carpets were exported from Iran in a six-month period (from March 20 to September 21, 2024).
Tavallai also pointed out that, in addition to the sanctions imposed on Iran, one of the major challenges facing the carpet manufacturing sector is the ongoing rise in raw material prices.
Furthermore, according to the Iranian Customs Administration, Iran exported 70 million tons of non-oil products worth $25.8 billion over the past six months. In comparison to the same period last year, exports increased by 6.5% in value and by 3.5% in weight.
