An Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday killed the head of Hamas's armed wing, witnesses said.
An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed that Ahmed Ja'abari had been targeted. There was no official confirmation from Hamas, the Islamist group which runs Gaza.
A second militant was also killed in the airstrike, which targeted a car in Gaza City.
