A Bolivian delegation left Sunday for Russia to attend a two-day meeting on cooperation in mineral exploration, Xinhua reported.

"During the (April 26-27) meeting, they will discuss an agreement on cooperation in hydrocarbon exploration and on other exploitation projects in Bolivia," Bolivian Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca said.

The Bolivian government has said it welcomes foreign participation in its lithium exploitation while Russia has indicated its willingness to cooperate with Bolivia in such fields as zinc, gold and magnesium mining.

According to an earlier agreement reached between Bolivian President Evo Morales and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the Bolivian delegates will also hold talks with the Russian side on borrowing more than 100 million dollars on credit for purchasing military weapons and equipment.

The Bolivian delegation is composed of Economy and Finance Minister Luis Arce Catacora, Mining Minister Jose Pimentel, President of state-run oil giant YPFB Carlos Villegas and some experts.
