Gymnast Sandra Izbasa won gold in the vault event at the Berlin European Championship on Saturday, while Flavius Koczi had a great performance on the floor, getting the biggest grade, 15.500, Bucharest Herald reported.
Izbasa's medal is the first after a seven-year gap in Romania's sports record in the vault event. She won the medal after an exceptional performance, with an average 14.675. The first jump got 14.700 and the second, 14.650.
Amelia Racea was the third in the final, getting a 14.000 at the first try and 13.450 at the second, with an average of 13.725, ranking seventh.
Koczi had an excellent performance at the floor, with the highest grade, 15.500, which brought him European gold. Koczi on Friday also won silver in the individual all-around final on Friday, while Sunday he will take part in the vault final.
