The recommendations really improve election practice in Azerbaijan, development of legislative and other branches of government, as well as have positive impact on the image of Azerbaijan. We are pleased to accept them, the Presidential Administration social and political issues department head Ali Hasanov told media, expressing the attitude towards the recommendations of international organizations in connection with the formation of electoral commissions.
"However, as a nation we can not allow the implementation of the recommendations that put the fate of the elections subject to the will of people, and at some point they can be directed to violation of the electoral process. The state deals with elections. If the election process is violated tomorrow, no European organization will not take responsibility for it. All the responsibility will fall on the Azerbaijani state and electoral institutions," Hasanov said.
OSCE and CE Venice Commission submitted recommendations on the formation of electoral commissions on a parity basis, settlement of mechanisms for giving complaints and appeals in connection with the violation of voting rights and other issues.
The parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in early November.
