Azerbaijani Days of Culture will be held for the first time in Qatar June 2-4, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Doha reported.
The cultural program will open with prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov's opera "Leyli and Majnun." An exhibition of Azerbaijani artwork will also be shown, including paintings, carpets, and antique tools. The program also covers folk dances, national music, and Mugam, the embassy said.
The program will be held in Doha, which has been declared the Middle East's cultural capital for 2010.
"Thus, Doha mostly hosts cultural progams of Arab countries, but given the special relationship between Azerbaijan and Qatar and our cultural cooperation, it was decided to hold Azerbaijani Days of Culture," the embassy said.
Baku hosted Qatari Days of Culture June 6-11 last year.
