A commemorating event on the occasion of the 146th anniversary of Lieutenant general Aliaga Shikhlinski was held in front of A.Shikhlinski's memorial plaque at Jafar Jabbarli street 12 in Baku on April 23.
Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society Vice President Gafar Asgerzadeh opened the event. He described Shikhlinski as a prominent military man and one of the founders of the Azerbaijani Republic. Shikhlinski rose before the state issues of avoiding diseases that threaten human life and creating medical -sanitary teams, the Society reported.
Then, the Society's District Branches' chairmen made a speech about Shikhlinski. The speakers told about Shikhlinski's activity and work done by him during forming Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society as an organization.
Participants laid a wreath at Shichinlinski's grave.
