Public prosecution has demanded punishment for six members of the "Public Chamber" of the opposition for their participation in an unsanctioned rally in Baku on April 2.
Public prosecutor Vugar Hajiyev asked the court to sentence defendants Sahib Kerimov and Arif Alishli to four and a half years' imprisonment, Elnur Israfilov and Zulfugar Eyvazov to four years, and Babak Hasanov and Elshan Hasanov to three years, Sabail District Court told Trend on Friday.
The process continues with the participation of the defense.
The Baku City Prosecutor's Office has filed a criminal case under Article 233 - on the Organization of actions promoting infringement of a social order or active participation in such actions - and Article 315 - on Resistance or application of violence concerning the representative of authority - of the Crtiminal Code.
Some 14 people were accused during the investigation.
