ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 9. Transactions totaling approximately $20.837 million were concluded at Turkmenistan's State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange from August 2 through August 7, Trend reports.
According to the exchange, on August 2, Turkmenistan sold light industry waste to Türkiye for $110,566, with regenerated fibers worth $52,168 being the most significant transaction.
Two deals totaling more than $1.714 million concluded on August 4. The most notable deal saw Afghanistan purchasing liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Turkmennebit National Oil Company for $1.377 million. Additionally, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan sold medicinal herbs worth $337,500 to Serbia.
On August 5, Kazakhstan acquired ready-made garments for $175,000.
August 6 was the busiest day, with six deals totaling $17.838 million, all related to Turkmennebit's petrochemical products. Türkiye purchased aviation fuel (TS-1) worth $688,500, while Uzbekistan bought diesel fuel (L-0.5-62) for $11.59 million. Afghanistan struck four deals on the same day, including aviation fuel (TS-1) for $344,250 and diesel fuel in three bids worth $985,150, $173,850, and $4.056 million.
On August 3 and 7, there were no recorded transactions.
The State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan, established on July 29, 1994, remains a key body for regulating goods export-import operations.
From January through July 2024, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 174 trading sessions, registering 16,821 contracts.
