Azerbaijan launches remote trading of shares

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) has announced the initiation of remote trading for shares in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

The BSE reports that traders are currently using this new remote trading system to trade shares of the International Bank of Azerbaijan on the secondary market.

“To facilitate external applications that enable investors to trade remotely via the shares system, the exchange is utilizing an API service in collaboration with its participants. As of October 9, 2024, trading volume for the International Bank of Azerbaijan's shares on the secondary market has exceeded 1 million manat within 10 working days, highlighting the potential of remote trading.

In comparison, the trading volume for the International Bank of Azerbaijan's shares on the secondary market amounted to 263,000 manat ($154,710) from January through September 2024.

This data confirms that the implementation of remote trading significantly enhances liquidity in the stock market," the BSE statement said.
