ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 15. Delegates from Mitsubishi Corporation express interest in expanding the company's presence in Kazakhstan and launching new initiatives to strengthen its operations in the region, Trend reports.

This was discussed during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alibek Kuantyrov, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Invest, Madiyar Sultanbek, with the General Director of Mitsubishi Corporation in Kazakhstan, Tetsuya Sugita.

During the negotiations, Alibek Kuantyrov emphasized that Kazakhstan's new investment policy is focused on developing high-value-added industries with an emphasis on further export.

In the course of discussions, representatives of Mitsubishi Corporation presented their corporate strategy for 2024, aimed at sustainable development and reducing the carbon footprint. Among the promising projects presented to the Kazakh side were the creation of infrastructure for the use of hydrogen technologies and the development of solutions in the field of renewable energy.

The parties discussed key areas for cooperation in sustainable development, including the introduction of advanced technologies and the implementation of projects in the energy sector, infrastructure, and industry. Mitsubishi Corporation representatives expressed interest in implementing new initiatives aimed at supporting the region's sustainable development.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop cooperation in line with the company's global initiatives in energy and digital transformation.

Earlier, on the sidelines of the C5+Japan business forum, Mitsubishi Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Central Asia Climate Foundation and Rakurs Tech.

Mitsubishi Corporation has opened three representative offices in Kazakhstan since 1993. Over the years, the corporation has participated in the implementation of several investment projects, including the rehabilitation of highways in Western Kazakhstan, the reconstruction and improvement of water supply in the city of Kyzylorda, and the supply of equipment for railway track repair. According to the main office in Tokyo, the corporation has supplied 30,000 tons of steel pipes with enhanced anti-corrosion resistance to Tengizchevroil and AktobeMunayGas.
