Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas exports keep rising

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Azerbaijan's non-oil and gas exports totaled $2.8 billion in the period from January through October of this year, increasing by 3.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2023, Trend reports via the CAERC's export review.

However, in the period from January through October 2024, exports of food products increased by 13.6 percent to $803.1 million.

The share of sugar and sugar confectionery in exports grew by 61.8 percent to $35.2 million, cotton fiber - by 63.9 percent to $161.4 million, vegetable oils and fats - by 29.4 percent to $22.8 million, chemical industry products - by 18.6 percent to $237.3 million, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages - by 15.8 percent to $59.4 million in the first 10 months of this year.

Moreover, the export of agrarian products increased by 5.7 percent, to $603.5 million, and agro-industrial products by 60.3 percent, to $260.9 million, from January through October 2024. Overall, the combined export of agrarian and agro-industrial products increased by 17.8 percent to $864.4 million.

The top spot on the list of non-oil sector goods exported from January through October 2024 is occupied by gold ($163.4 million). Cotton fiber (at $160.4 million) ranked second on the list, while tomatoes ($142 million) occupied the third spot.
