ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 7. Kazakhstan’s Samruk-Energy and Qatari group Power International Holding (PIH) have signed an agreement to construct a combined cycle power plant in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

Samruk-Energy's Chairman, Kairat Maksutov, and PIH President, Ramez Al-Hayat, signed the agreement during an online meeting.

The Kyzylorda region plans to construct the 1,100 MW power plant. The project is expected to positively impact the stability of Kazakhstan’s unified power grid and improve the ecological sustainability of the country’s energy system, making it cleaner and more efficient.

During the signing ceremony, both sides noted significant progress in their long-term partnership, based on mutual respect and trust. They also discussed next steps for the joint implementation of this energy project.

To note, Power International Holding is a Qatari conglomerate operating in various sectors of the economy. The company has successfully executed around 1,000 projects worldwide.
