ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 31. In the first 11 months of 2024, Kazakhstan’s agricultural trade turnover with Tatarstan amounted to $61.1 million, reflecting a 3.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Amangaliy Berdalin, met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.
A delegation, which included representatives of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan, as well as companies such as GC Krasny Vostok, Edelweiss Group, Kazan Delicacies, and agricultural enterprises from Tatarstan, visited Kazakhstan to study best practices in beef cattle breeding, agricultural insurance, and the overall development of the agro-industrial complex.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that cooperation in the agricultural sector remains a priority area of partnership between the two countries. Amangaliy Berdalin briefed the delegation on government support measures for beef cattle breeding, horse breeding, and agricultural insurance.
"Integrated meat clusters are being developed, covering the entire cycle from feed preparation to the sale of finished products. Following the Australian model, six feedlots with a capacity of 98,000 head of cattle, a feeding complex for 50,000 small ruminants, and the first specialized livestock exchange are planned for construction over the next two years. The ministry provides full support for each project. Our priority is the deep processing of agricultural products, and we are interested in establishing joint ventures in Kazakhstan," Berdalin stated.
Zyabbarov, in turn, emphasized Tatarstan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation across all areas. As part of the working program, the delegation members familiarized themselves with the activities of the Meat Union of Kazakhstan and visited livestock facilities in Kazakhstan's Abai region. They also planned visits to farms in the Akmola region.
Additionally, during the meeting, both parties expressed interest in further expanding trade in agricultural products.
