ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 3. Kazakhstan’s KazAgroMash factory in Kokshetau has begun serial production of full cultivators, wide-area rollers, disc harrows, and medium spring harrows, which will become essential tools for Kazakhstani farmers, Trend reports.
Vitaliy Borko, the factory’s director, highlighted the
significance of this move for Kazakhstan's agricultural sector.
"For many years, Kazakhstani farmers were compelled to buy
agricultural machinery from abroad, leading to high costs, long
delivery times, and difficulties with spare parts. Moreover,
equipment designed for other countries often didn’t meet
Kazakhstan's climate and soil conditions. The production of key
agricultural machinery domestically creates new opportunities: it
reduces equipment costs, ensures the availability of spare parts,
adapts machinery to local conditions, and provides government
support through a 30 percent subsidy on domestic machinery," he
explained.
He added that the full cultivators are available in widths of 11 and 15 meters. These machines will assist farmers with field cultivation, soil loosening, and weed control, all without the use of chemicals.
“Wide-area rollers with a working width of 12-18 meters are crucial for soil preparation, enhancing soil structure, and retaining moisture. The factory also produces 2-row and 4-row disc harrows with a working width of up to 8 meters, which are essential for soil loosening, weed management, and incorporating plant residue after harvest,” noted the Ministry of Agriculture.
The KazAgroMash was launched in March 2024 with an annual capacity of 150 units of agricultural machinery. Over the next three years, more than 600 agricultural investment projects worth $4.8 billion are planned to be implemented in Kazakhstan.
