Azerbaijan’s State Housing Development Agency (MIDA) plans to build residential complexes in Azerbaijani cities and districts as part of construction projects’ implementation, spokesperson for MIDA Maryam Nabiyeva told Trend.

This includes construction of a new residential complex in Ganja city, Nabiyeva said.

“This year, it is planned to begin construction of a new residential complex in Ganja on the territory of 6.2 hectares,” the spokesperson added. “As part of this project, it is planned to construct 18 buildings, with a total number of 986 apartments. The project is under development. The design will be completed in the near future.”

Nabiyeva noted that the construction project on the territory of the residential complex also envisages the creation of social infrastructure.

“It is planned to build a kindergarten, a shopping center and other objects of social significance in this territory,” said the spokesperson.

Nabiyeva noted that MIDA implements all projects on the basis of the developed “Strategic Roadmap for the Development of Affordable Housing Provision in Azerbaijan.”

According to this document, it is necessary to minimize public funding and attract private construction and investment companies to cooperation.

To date, the volume of private investments as part of public-private partnership projects has amounted to $46.8 million.

At the same time, within the projects, the construction of multi-apartment buildings, communication infrastructure and a shopping center was carried out.
