Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 April / Trend corr I.Khalilova / From Jan to April 2008, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Azerbaijan increased by 15% as compared to Jan - April 2007, the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee reported. At current prices, GDP has made up AZN 11172.4mln. The GDP volume comprised AZN 1310.6 per capita ($1560.4), with an increase of 13.6%.
The total of volume of production rose in all the spheres of economy by 17% to 74.1% of the GDP, with major share of 66.6% (AZN 7436.1mln) from the industry. The specific weight of all services made up 18.4%, with an increase of 10.2%. Net taxes from the production and import comprised 7.5% in GDP.
ZN 151.4mln of the value added cost was collected from the hunting sector, agriculture and forestry (1.3% of the whole GDP), AZN 691.9mln from the construction sector (6.2%), AZN 421.8mln (3.8%) - transport, AZN 175mln (1.6%) - communications, AZN 607.6mln (5.4%) - wholesale and retail trade, automobile sphere, household wares and services for repairing the objects of personal use, AZN 88.7mln (0.8%) - restaurants and hotel sector and AZN 757.8mln (6.8%) from the social services.
