The amount of transfers received by Georgia in March amounted to $81.8 million, or 21.2 million or 35 percent more than the same period in 2009.
The National Bank of Georgia said transfers from Russia ($13.1 million), Greece ($2.2 million), Ukraine ($1.6 million), as well as others countries increased during this period.
About 90 percent of all money transfer fall on the eight major donor countries, money transfer from which exceeds one million dollars. About 89.1 percent of total money transfer fell to these eight countries in March.
Besides, Georgia transferred $7.1 million abroad in March compared to $6.5 million at the same period in 2009.
