Iran has the world's second largest gas reserve and third largest oil reserve. It currently faces U.S. sanctions over its nuclear program.
The U.S. Congress approved the financial sanction against Iran in 2010, imposing strict conditions for foreign investors and financial firms by preventing them to invest more than $20 million in Iranian oil and gas industries.
