The deputy head of East Azerbaijan Industries, Mining and Trade Organization said 1.5 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $1.2 billion were exported from the Iranian province in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21).
Gholamali Rasti added that the exports witnessed a 12.5 percent and a 9.2 percent rise in volume and value compared to the same period last year, IRNA reported.
The exports mainly included industrial and agricultural products.
These were exported to 85 countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
