The volume of mining materials extracted in Angouran mine of Iran’s Zanjan province increased by 147 percent during nine months (March 21 – December 21) of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019), Director of Iran's Anguran zinc and lead mineral complex Umid Fallah said, Trend reports referring to the website of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
“Some 664,000 tons of mining materials were extracted in Angouran mine during the reporting period, while the planned volume was 453,000 tons,” Fallah added.
“The advance stripping on 5.1 million square meters was carried out during the reporting period which is 139 percent more than the planned area, which was 3.7 million square meters,” the director said adding that 10.3 million tons of mining materials have been extracted from Angouran mine since 2007.
“There are enough mining materials at Angouran mine,” Fallah added. “In accordance with the estimations, the mining materials located on the surface will be fully extracted during the next four years.”
“The number of local workers at Angouran mine has increased from 39 percent to 63 percent since 2016,” the director said.
In his words, up to 700,000 tons of lead and zinc may be produced at Angouran mine a year.
