Iran records increase in extraction from Anguran Mining Complex

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. The extraction from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province (north-western Iran) increased by about 13 percent, during the first 11 months of the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through February 19, 2022), compared to the same period preceding Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, about 946,000 tons of minerals were extracted from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in 11 months. Meanwhile, in the same period preceding the Iranian year, the figure stood at about 834,000 tons.

"About 651,000 tons of minerals were sent to local companies from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex over eleven months, which is a decrease of 26 percent, compared to the same period preceding the Iranian year (880,000 tons)," the report said.

Furthermore, the mining complex produced about 78,800 tons of minerals in the 11th month of the last Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022). The production increased by 15 percent, compared to the same month preceding the Iranian year (93,000 tons).

In the 11th month, 68,200 tons of lead were sent from the mining complex to local companies. This is 18 percent less than in the same month last Iranian year (83,200 tons).
