BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. The non-oil exports of Iran’s Golestan Province grew by 44 percent in value and 40 percent in volume in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through January 20, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Director General of Golestan Province Customs Office Shahriar Shahriari said, Trend reports.
Shahriari stated that the province exported non-oil products worth around $257 million and weighing 435,000 tons in 10 months.
The director general added the main export items were polystyrene, eggs, cheese, various types of profiles, fish feed, dates, pistachios, etc.
He also said that the province’s non-oil products reached 27 countries, with Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan being the top destinations.
Iran’s efforts to boost its non-oil exports amid the US sanctions that limit its oil sales. Iran’s non-oil exports include all products except crude oil, mazut, and white oil.
The latest data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran exported about 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This represents a 0.68 percent drop in value but a 26.5 percent rise in volume compared to the same period last year.
