Kulevi Oil Terminal decreases oil transshipment in February due to bad weather

Due to bad weather, the total oil transshipment volume of the SOCAR's Kulevi Terminal in February 2011 was decreased by 27 percent compared to the previous month. During February, the Terminal received 302,400 tons and dispatched about 244,500 tons of oil and oil products, the terminal said today.
In January 2011 roughly 333.400 tons of crude oil and oil products were delivered to the world market through the Kulevi terminal, which is 31 percent more than January 2010. In January, the terminal received 362.700 tons of crude oil and oil products.
The terminal was put into operation in summer 2008.
The terminal can accommodate up to 168 tank cars. The tank farm's total volume is 320,000 cubic meters with the possibility of increasing to 380,000 cubic meters. The port has two berths to load petroleum products in tankers of up to 100,000 tons.
Loading productivity ranges from 1,000 to 8,000 cubic meters per hour. The railway station, which can simultaneously accommodate up to 180 carriage awaiting discharge of cargo, serves to the port. The railway trestle can simultaneously unload 168 carriages.
