Under the agreement, which will be signed between the Azerkimya Production Unit of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) and the German GICON Company, works will be carried on drawing up cadastre, developing the concept of cleaning up the areas of industrial enterprises polluted for many years, a source at the Unit told Trend on Friday.
The contract between the sides will be signed during the conference "Defining the risk of polluted territories" to be held at the Unit (Sumgayit city) on Sept. 6-8 at the initiative of the Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany, the German Society for International Cooperation and with the assistance of Azerkimya.
"An agreement between Azerkimya and German GICON Company is planned to be signed during the conference. "Under the agreement, works will be carried on drawing up cadastre, developing the concept of cleaning up the areas of industrial enterprises polluted for many years," said the Unit.
According to information, the German government accompanies the activities of the GICON Company through financial support and facilitates the exchange of experiences with German experts.
The main purpose of the conference is to examine the experience of German experts who have extensive experience in cleaning up polluted areas, involve them in joint development and prepare tools and methods to study the extent and evaluate pollution of territory of the chemical complex of Sumgayit.
