TEHRAN, Iran, Feb.5

Trend:

All companies working on the development of oil reservoirs in the south of Iran are local contractors, CEO the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) announced.

Referring to the latest status of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Financing (EPCF) contracts at 28 South Oil fields, Ahmad Mohammadi said that six contracts have already been awarded. The tender for another eight contracts will be announced in the next few weeks, Trend reports citing ILNA.

"For 12 remaining reservoirs, we also begin to distribute the documents between the bidders and the contractors,” he said.

The development plan for the southern oilfields, which was designed in 2017 based on EPCF contracts, will increase production by 341,000 barrels in 28 oil reservoirs.

The credit for developing these reservoirs is estimated at about $4.6 billion, with plans to develop 124 ground-level projects, drill 282 new wells and repair 143 wells. With the implementation of the plan, 80 drilling rigs, including 60 development rigs and 20 repair rigs, will begin operating in the southern oilfields.
