BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 24. Brazil will be increasing its oil production in the upcoming months reaching additional 300,000 barrels per day by the end of the year, said Bento Albuquerque, Minister of mines and energy of Brazil at the IEA ministerial, Trend reports.
He noted that this represents an increase of 10 percent in Brazil’s current output.
“Industries and governments have responsibilities and roles to play in accelerating the energy transition. Nevertheless, energy transition must go hand in hand with energy security. Meanwhile, the government has set guidelines for the country to continue being a leader in clean and renewable energy. We have made use of renewable energy options mobilizing a pipeline of wind and solar projects of dozens of gigawatts. We have just approved new regulations for offshore wind and there are announcements of private projects that sum up dozens of gigawatts,” noted the minister.
Albuquerque went on to add that Brazil keeps moving forward with its bioenergy policies reducing carbon intensity in the transport sector with use of sustainable biofuels.
