BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. 'Saturn' jack-up semi-submersible drilling rig (SSDR) has been delivered to Azerbaijan from Turkmenistan for modernization and possible works on the Caspian shelf, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO).
The owner of the rig, which was built back in 1988, is GSP Drilling.
"ASCO's vessels - Andoga, Neftegaz 64, and Mardakan - helped transport this SSDR to Baku," ASCO notes.
However, it is not yet clear what kind of work this drilling rig will be used after modernization.
Previously, the rig was used for several drilling operations on the Turkmen shelf of the Caspian Sea, and before that, it was involved in the North Sea.
