Azerbaijan records hike in production of main types of oil products

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 15. Azerbaijan has increased production of main types of oil products from January through June 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, the statement of the State Statistics Committee (SSC) of Azerbaijan said, Trend reports.

According to the information, a total of 715,300 tons of motor gasoline were produced at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery in Baku in the first half of this year, which is 2.1 percent more than the same period in 2023.

The production of jet fuel increased by 10.2 percent to 312,200 tons.

The output of diesel fuel at refineries from January through June 2024 amounted to 1.1 million tons, which is 0.3 percent higher than the figure for the same period in 2023.

The production of lubricating oils recorded a growth of 4.8 percent, reaching 32,800 tons from January through June.

Furthermore, growth was recorded for oil bitumen - 115,000 tons (an increase of 3.3 percent) from January through June 2024.

However, a decrease of 11.5 percent was noted for petroleum coke (decrease in demand) - 111,100 tons.

To note, Azerbaijan produced 2.31 million tons of diesel fuel (12.3 percent growth), 1.464 million tons of motor gasoline (+13.4 percent), 594,400 tons of jet fuel (+4.1 percent), 231,600 tons of petroleum coke (+10 percent), and 59,100 tons of lubricating oils (+31.6 percent) in 2023.
