BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. Azerbaijan produced 19.235 billion kWh of electricity from January through August 2024, compared to 19.245 billion kWh in the same period of 2023.
The data obtained by Trend from the country's Energy Ministry indicates that of the mentioned volume, electricity exports amounted to 0.86 billion kWh compared to 1.53 billion kWh from January through August 2023, while imports decreased to 125.5 million kWh from 169.3 million kWh during the eight months of 2023.
Azerbaijan produced 29.276 billion kWh of electricity in 2023 (up 272.3 million kWh from 2022), exported 3.25 billion kWh, and imported 211.8 million kWh.
Electricity export and import volumes depend on the fuel and energy balance and are regulated by neighboring states.
