BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 30. The STAR Oil Refinery owned by the state oil company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye produced 65,331 tons of petroleum coke in November 2024, a slight decrease of 1.52% compared to 66,347 tons produced in November 2023, reports with reference to the Energy Markets Regulatory Authority (EPDK) of Türkiye.
Oil deliveries to the refinery fell by 16.71 percent in November 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, declining from 1.013 million tons to 843,759 tons.
STAR Refinery, which began operations on October 19, 2018, plays a key role in integrating refining and petrochemical production, making it Türkiye’s largest single-location real sector investment.
As of late 2024, the refinery's crude oil processing capacity has reached 13 million tons per year. In 2023, its production capacity utilization rate stood at 117.1 percent. STAR Refinery produces a wide range of petroleum products, including diesel, naphtha, aviation fuel, and LPG, meeting approximately 18 percent of Türkiye’s refined petroleum demand that year. Its annual naphtha production nearly satisfies Petkim’s raw material requirements.
