Kazakhstan banking sector's assets decrease

With total assets of Kazakhstan's banking sector in April 2019 totaling 24,577.4 billion tenge (decrease of 2.6 percent since January 2019), 48.2 percent accounted for loans, 21.5 percent for securities and 12.9 percent for cash, precious metals and correspondent accounts, Trend reports via the National Bank of Kazakhstan.

The loans that are more than 90 days overdue amounted to 1,122.8 billion tenge (8.2 percent of loan portfolio), while loan portfolio provisions amounted to 2,341.4 billion tenge and accounted for 17.9 percent of the loan portfolio (1,776.6 billion tenge, 12.9 percent in January 2019)

"Total volume of liabilities of the banking sector in April 2019 totaled 21.516.9 billion tenge (decrease of 3.2 percent since January 2019). The majority of the liabilities portfolio accounts for client deposits (77.4 percent). Securities in circulation account for 8.2 percent, loans of other banks and organizations that carry out certain types of bank transactions account for 2.7 percent," reads the message.

The liabilities of banks before the foreigners in Kazakhstan overall increased from 6.2 percent to 6.4 percent (up to 1,309.5 billion tenge), thus increasing compared to the beginning of 2019.

"The net loss totaled 50.3 billion tenge," the report said.
