ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 29. The total number of bank cards issued by the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank at the beginning of July this year exceeded 1.11 million units, Trend reports.
Data from the Central Bank of Turkmenistan show that this figure represents a seven percent increase compared to the same date last year, when the number of bank cards amounted to more than 1.03 million units.
The largest number of issued cards on the specified date by this bank was in Ashgabat city, which amounted to 512,594 units.
In general, the distribution of cards of the Turkmenistan State Commercial Bank by region is as follows: 165,312 units in the Balkan region, 142,959 units in the Mary region, 122,275 units in the Lebap region, 83,248 units in the Dashoguz region, 79,365 units in the Akhal region and 6,355 units in the city of Arkadag.
The total number of bank cards issued by the State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan as of the beginning of July is 19 percent of the total number of cards issued in Turkmenistan amounting to more than 5.64 million units.
