A delegation of the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry reviewed the economic and legal basis to regulate the quality of services rendered on the basis of modern ICT during the 26-th session of the commission of the Regional Commonwealth of Communications (RCC) on Economics and Communications, the RCC said.
A meeting of the commission was held in Ukraine September 14-15.
The commission considered a number of topical issues to use modern methods of corporate management, the economic aspects of transition to digital broadcasting in the RCC member-states.
During the meeting, experience was exchanged between members of the commission on principles and procedures for interconnection and Next Generation Network services.
The commission has paid particular attention to the issue of improving statistics, published on the basis of standardized statistical indicators for communications and informatization. During the discussion, a list of indicators that characterize the level of preparedness of the RCC countries to build an information society was adopted. The introduction of these indicators will allow conducting a comparative analysis of regional and international sections and evaluate the potential of ICT development.
One of the most important and relevant issues considered by the commission, was the issue of improving the system of indicators characterizing the level of preparedness of the RCC countries to build an information society based on regional monitoring of ICT development. Monitoring is a tool for objective assessment of the state, dynamics and potential of the information and communication development. It plays an important role in the management of information and ICT development in the regional sphere. The monitoring results are the basis to make decisions to implement national strategies for the movement towards the information society.
Following the meeting, a long-term plan of the RCC Commission on Economy of Communications for 2011-2012 was adopted. It includes important and relevant issues concerning the economic aspects of the communications and informatization. The next meetings of the RCC Commission on Economy of Communications will be held in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in 2011.
