In June 2018, 79,793 citizens of Kazakhstan visited Turkey, which is 10.88 percent more compared to June 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey told Trend Aug. 24.
Kazakh citizens rank first among tourists from Central Asia, who visited Turkey in June this year.
The ministry noted that the share of Kazakh citizens in the total number of foreigners who visited Turkey in June 2018 is 1.77 percent.
In June this year, 5,091,496 foreign tourists visited Turkey, which is 28.49 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
Turkey was visited by 451,699 tourists from Germany, 306,647 tourists from the UK, 241,095 tourists from Ukraine and 210,989 tourists from Bulgaria in June 2018. The remaining 3,881,066 tourists who visited Turkey in June 2018 accounted for the share of other countries.
In June 2018, the tourism province of Antalya was visited by 1,933,899 tourists, which is 42.92 percent of the total number of tourists. Istanbul was visited by 1,100,389 people, which is 24.42 percent of the total number of tourists who visited Turkey during the period.
In January-June 2018, 15,968,001 tourists visited Turkey, which is 30.36 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
