The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 19 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2021), compared to the 2nd month (April 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 14,100 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the third month. Of this, 12,700 tons were loaded and 1,400 tons were unloaded.
In the second month of the current Iranian year, a total of 17,600 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port.
“About 12,700 tons of cargo were exported through the Astara port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.
Also, 1,400 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit during the third month.
According to the statistics, 21 tons of essential products, 225 tons of metal products, 8,600 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 38 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 4,970 tons of chemicals, 10 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 251 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month, according to the statistics.
As reported, about 11.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.53 million tons were loaded and 4.93 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
