BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 26. The Chinese company Beijing Trans Eurasia International Logistics, as a participant of the Middle Corridor, has announced the reliable delivery of cargo along this route from Altynkol to Hamburg in 30 days via land sections and the Caspian and Black Seas, Trend reports via Beijing.
“We are closely working with our partners to optimize the Middle Corridor by chartering ships in the Black Sea and leasing locomotives in Europe. Currently, the Altynkol-Aktau section takes 13 days, the Baku-Poti section takes 5-6 days, and in Europe, from Burgas and Constanta to Duisburg, it takes 5-8 days. The route is stable,” Managing Director of Beijing Trans Eurasia International Logistics Wanxu Dong believes.
He noted that, in particular, the Black Sea section charters ships for the transportation of containerized cargo (300 TEU), and the EU territory has an “adaptation” with companies-owners of wagons and locomotives.
“The reliable travel time from Altynkol to Hamburg is 30 days. Considering the problems of Suez, the Middle Corridor demonstrates efficiency,” Dong added.
To note, the Middle Corridor has been developing since 2014, but it is the last couple of particularly active years.
A total of 2.7 million tons of cargo passed through it in 2023, and in 2024, freight traffic will exceed 4.2 million tons.
