BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Kazakhstan's Air Astana airline has extended the suspension of flights to Dubai until September 30, 2026, the company announced.

"Due to the continued unstable situation in the Gulf region, Air Astana is extending the suspension of flights to Dubai from Almaty and Astana until September 30, 2026," the company said.

The airline's October schedule for these routes has been adjusted, with flight frequencies reduced. Passengers affected by the canceled flights can rebook free of charge in the same booking class on flights operating through November 20, 2026.

Passengers can also receive a full refund at the place of purchase or change their ticket free of charge to other international Air Astana destinations, with any fare difference payable if applicable.

Earlier today, Kazakhstan's FlyArystan also announced that it was extending the temporary suspension of flights on the Aktau-Dubai-Aktau route until September 30, 2026, inclusive.

The flight cancellations and schedule adjustments come amid continued geopolitical tensions surrounding Iran and heightened risks to civil aviation in the Middle East.

Military and political instability in the region, periodic restrictions on Iranian airspace, and risks associated with missile and drone activity have prompted international airlines to take precautionary measures and adjust their flight schedules.
