BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC transported over 6.26 million tons of transit cargo from January through October 2024, Trend reports via the CJSC’s data.
Along with this, the volume of transit cargo transportation increased by seven percent compared to the same period last year (5.85 million tons of transit cargo).
Domestic freight transportation through the CJSC accounted for 614,584 tons in October 2024, marking a 14 percent increase compared to the 40,192 tons recorded in October 2023.
To note, Azerbaijan has thrown its hat in the ring with a bold goal of hitting the 30 million ton mark in annual cargo transportation by 2030.
